Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Lead mechanical design and architecture programs for client hardware and in-house robotics. You will oversee parametric CAD assemblies, tolerance stack-ups, tooling DFM reviews, and guide junior engineers through physical prototyping and production handoff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead parametric 3D CAD modeling and master assembly architecture in SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews for CNC machining, sheet metal, and injection tooling.
- Produce and approve detailed 2D engineering drawings with ASME Y14.5 GD&T practices for production manufacturing.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analyses, clearance verifications, and structural/thermal simulation reviews.
- Guide junior engineers on drawing standards, CAD best practices, and physical prototype assembly.
- Coordinate with clients, fabrication vendors, and prototyping teams to ensure first-pass dimensional fit.
Requirements
- B.E. / B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical product design or machine development.
- Deep proficiency in SolidWorks / Fusion 360 — master modeling, complex assemblies, and drawings.
- Strong command of ASME Y14.5 GD&T, datum structures, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven record of taking physical parts from concept through prototyping to production.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to robotics mechanisms, joint packaging, or actuator housing design.
- Experience with structural FEA or CFD thermal analysis tools.
- Familiarity with additive manufacturing (DfAM) and rapid prototyping workflows.
